The Olive Grove is private, beautiful and unique it was a dream come true for our wedding ceremony, the view is breath taking it was the perfect romantic setting. I couldn’t wait to share it with our family and friends! We enjoyed a bridal party picnic as a fun way to start our big day, relaxing under the tree taking it all in. We loved the olive trees so much they inspired our theme at the reception, we gifted olive oil favours! Our guests commented how lovely it was to celebrate in such beautiful surroundings while enjoying music, wine and canapés. Planning was easy, John & Jill were so warm, accommodating and friendly. Planning a destination wedding from afar can be a pretty overwhelming process – When we turned up to Barn Pinch Farm Olive Grove prior to our wedding day, we were absolutely awestruck – the view was incredible! We were surprised to find that we were in fact standing in the space where guest cars are usually parked for weddings so once we walked around the grove to the actual ceremony site, we could not believe our eyes! The venue view as well as surrounds were just absolutely spectacular! This magical place catered for all our needs on our wedding day. Following our ceremony, we used the Olive Grove grounds to have photos while our guests had drinks, canapés and played games while admiring the scenery. “We had actually already booked a ceremony location but decided to visit The Olive Grove after receiving a recommendation while we were in Wanaka wedding planning. Late in the afternoon we phoned John and Jill and 20 minutes later we were welcomed onto their property and shown around. Of course the rest is history, we fell in love with the tranquil and private location with stunning views over Lake Wanaka. On the day the site was immaculate and the sun was shining. Our wedding guests (including a strong British contingent) were simply bowled over by the setting. We honestly couldn’t have asked for better. The location is stunning, and John and Jill are possibly the most accommodating people we’ve ever met. Nothing was a problem. In fact John gave us a tour all over his property, including through his house with it’s amazing views. Upon spotting an old sewing table and discussing how Nicola’s father used to be a sewing machine mechanic, John asked us if we would like to sign the register on it. We leapt at the opportunity and John transported it down to the idyllic olive grove on our wedding day. . I was actually worried that Nicola had been so charmed with John that I was going to have to find a new bride-to-be… Thanks for making our special day one we will never forget. | “We are Brisbane-based and came over on a planning trip to view several locations around Wanaka and Queenstown, and fortunately Clare from Cakes of Wanaka referred us to The Olive Grove. As soon as we arrived the owners, John & Jill invited us in for tea and the deal was done, we knew straight away it was the perfect location. The Olive Grove represents everything we love about Wanaka, beautiful and easy-going. John & Jill could not have been more gracious as hosts, nothing was too much trouble and they helped us out with other local contacts. We were extra lucky to be offered the on-site cabin for the week of our wedding which really added to the experience. The ceremony site is so naturally stunning and versatile with bus and helicopter access.
